Gansu in the eyes of Pakistan's Ambassador to China:
Remarkable Achievements in Sustainable Development and Vast Prospects for Agriculture-Culture Collaboration
Reporter:I'm the reporter from NetEase News. May I know your impression on Gansu? And also because Gansu is an important point of BRI, so I would like to know any for the potential agriculture and cultural cooperation in the future between Pakistan and Gansu.
Pakistan's Ambassador to China Khalil Hashmi:So my first impressions of Gansu and Lanzhou are it's very impressive both the advances or progress that you have achieved on the ecological front and also on the sustainable development front.
Because when I visited 17 years ago and now I come back to Lanzhou, I first came in 2008, so it is amazing to see a city which has developed so well. And of course, what has not changed, and I said earlier at the lunch, what has not changed is the very delicious beef noodles, Lanzhou beef noodle.
In terms of agriculture and cultural cooperation, I think we would like to collaborate on the education side to have more Pakistani students study at Lanzhou University.On the agriculture front, but also pursue joint research different projects for new farming techniques, new irrigation techniques, new ways of using fertilizers and to use how to minimize pesticides but enhance productivity.So agriculture education, research, but also would like to do business to business collaboration in the field of agriculture and livestock.
On the cultural side, I think we need more exchanges. I think we need to have now a sister province relationship between Ghansh and some province of Pakistan.I will discuss these proposal with the government leaders, but beyond that, I think we can have also youth exchanges other than students.For example, music is another area, fashion is an area, art exhibition is an area.So there are different disciplines in which we can have exchanges and I think we can have them, we can even enhance them once we have a sister province relationship.But even without that, I think we are discussing and I will discuss these proposals to enhance our cultural and business exchanges in the days and weeks ahead.

可持续发展令人赞叹，农文合作前景广阔
记者：请问大使先生您对甘肃的印象如何？甘肃是“一带一路”倡议的重要节点，未来巴基斯坦与甘肃在农业及文化领域有哪些潜在的合作可能？
巴基斯坦驻华大使卡里尔·哈什米：我对甘肃和兰州的第一印象非常深刻——无论是在生态保护方面，还是在可持续发展方面，你们所取得的进步都令人赞叹。
因为我17年前曾到访过这里，而现在我再次回到兰州——我第一次来是2008年，看到这座城市发展得如此之好，真的令人惊叹。当然，有一样东西没变，我今天午餐时也提到过，那就是 美味的牛肉面，兰州牛肉面的味道始终没变。
就农业和文化领域而言，我们可以加大在教育方面的合作，让更多的巴基斯坦学生到兰州大学来学习。农业领域，我们可以开展联合研究，围绕新型种植技术、新型灌溉技术、新型施肥方法以及如何减少农药使用同时提高产量等课题开展不同项目。所以，农业教育、农业研究之外，我们也希望在农牧领域开展企业间的合作。
文化方面，我认为我们需要更多交流。我觉得甘肃应该与巴基斯坦的某个省份建立友好省关系。我会和政府领导探讨这些提议，除此之外，我认为除了学生交流，我们还可以开展更多青年交流活动。比如音乐领域、时尚领域、艺术展览领域都可以成为交流的方向。在这些不同的领域中，我们都能开展交流；而且我相信，一旦建立友好省关系，这些交流还能进一步深化。不过即便没有正式的友好省关系，我们目前也在推进相关讨论，接下来的几天和几周里，我会继续推动这些提议，助力加强我们之间的文化和商业交流。
